The
Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures at Smith College
invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track position of
lecturer in Chinese language. This is a one-year position effective July 1, 2009, with a possibility of renewal.

Candidates
must be able to teach all levels of the language and hold the Master’s
degree in Chinese, Linguistics, Education, or a related field. Native
or near-native fluency in Chinese (Mandarin), competency in spoken and
written English, and experience teaching Chinese to English-speaking
students at the college level are required. Experience directing Chinese language courses, or developing language teaching materials is also highly desirable.
