Tenure-track Position in Chinese at Georgetown University

The Department of East Asian Languages and
Cultures, Georgetown University, invites applications for a new
tenure-track position in Chinese starting Fall 2010.  The position
requires a Ph.D. in Chinese linguistics or a related field at the time
of appointment, formal training in Chinese language pedagogy,
native/near native proficiency in Chinese and English, and prior
experience teaching in North America at the college level. The
successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active research
agenda, coordinate a rapidly growing Chinese language program, and

Sidwell Friends, a co-educational, PK-12, Quaker day school, seeks
applicants for a full-time Upper School Chinese teacher.  This person
will teach Chinese language courses to students in grades 9-12 and
potentially assist with other aspects of the Chinese Studies program.
Established in 1983, the Chinese Studies Program is one of the oldest
high school programs in the United States offering courses in Chinese
language, history and culture.  A major component is a language
sequence in Mandarin Chinese.
